House of Style

We don’t want to date ourselves but we can definitely remember that first episode of MTV’s House of Style from 1989 where Cindy Crawford was decked out in some serious black Alaia.  Those were the days before the words social media made any sense, when you would actually have to go home and phone someone on their land line in order to communicate with them, or you know, meet them face to face. What’s that like?

Anyways, we digress. We remember the days when House of Style was one of our main ways to receive our fashion news, besides magazines.

Fast forward to present day, a world where if you want to be, you’re inundated with all things fashion 24/7/365. That said, we’re looking forward to how House of Style will be remixed, how it will find a refreshing ways to bring us our news. And in celebration of our anticipation, we’ve gathered some of our favorite images of new hosts Joan Smalls and Karlie Kloss. Bring on the style!

Personal vintage Chanel. #throwbackthursday

A big kiss for our Luciana ring set.

Cereal & denim. It’s the little things.

Lala land, we’ll miss you!

Enchanté, Paris

We suppose if we can’t physically be in Paris, our jewelry being there is the next best thing, right?  Nicole of Gary Pepper took our Charly ring to the Eiffel Tower for what looks like the best afternoon ever. Comment dites-vous jealous in French?

too cool for school

It’s not too often that we see our jewelry roughed up in that Lower East Side of New York City kind of way, but when done well, we love it. It’s a nice change of pace, and we’re all for mixing things up. We’re really into the way La’s Blog took our Sweet Kate horseshoe necklace and paired it with ripped cutoff denim, a grungey tee and loads of black.

Number 9

Kelly of The Glamourai is picture perfect with a low cut blouse and our Sari hamsa necklace, topped off  beautifully with our Liza snake ring!  She mentions in her post that her look is inspired by the 90’s, more specifically Tom Ford for Gucci. We think she nailed it, don’t you agree?

Triple threat

Not only is Candice Lake a beautiful model, she’s also a super talented photographer and blogger with enviable style. We can’t get enough of her creative eye and amazing ability to snap looks at their very best. Here are some of our favorite photos we’d like to blow up and frame:

dead over Dior

On this Friday afternoon we will leave you with Dior. Mild heart attack, no? And when you can’t get out of bed on Monday morning, think of this and surely it will be what gets you up and running.

We’d love to know… what pieces have made you fall at first sight this Paris Fashion Week?

as you wish

Jamie, the blogger behind adorable style blog, The Fancy Tea Cup, gets back to basics as she wears our Lily necklace. Paired with a houndstooth skirt and timeless black essentials, like that Proenza Schouler clutch, this is a foolproof look we love.

style of the streets

Tommy Ton is number one on our list of fashion photogs at the moment for he is able to capture style so accurately.  Architectural heels, snap! Geometric jewels, snap! Patterns on patterns on patterns, snap! Crazy layers, snap, snap!  Here we’ve handpicked the most covetable pieces Mr. Ton has taken in the last handful of weeks.

JZ by the sea

As self-proclaimed travel enthusiasts, we simply adore when we spot our pieces overseas.  Newcomer blogger, Kita Moda, took not one but two of our Anna chokers to Greece.  What we love the most here is the layering of the two different tones, silver and gold.  Exceptional.

British Invasion

Those English folk always do it better. The London shows have surpassed all of our hopes and dreams. The cuts, the colors and the prints are leaving us bewildered, bright eyed and bushy-tailed. How did they come up with that?  Ahem, Mary Katrantzou and Peter Pilotto.

This is the kind of fashion we’ve been craving. Not just the styles that make us nod our heads and think  ‘Yes, I would love to wear that,’ but also the kind that make us feel superhuman- as if we should wear them on exhibition in a museum. Or at least along The Seine in Paris. Either one would do.

Top to bottom: Preen, Christopher Kane, Burberry Prorsum, Mary Katrantzou, Jonathan Saunders, Peter Pilotto.

new york fashion week, part three

The British are coming! But not quite yet. Before we cross the pond, we give you the final presentation of the American ready-to-where that we would do just about anything for.

Top to bottom: Nanette Lepore, Proenza Schouler, Marchesa, Prabal Gurung, Cushnie et Ochs, Milly.
